Q-files is the world’s first fully comprehensive, free-to-user, advert-free online encyclopedia specially designed for children.
Q-files is the creation of Orpheus Books Limited, a publishing company based in Oxford, England. Established in 1993, Orpheus is one of the world’s leading publishers of children’s non-fiction books and reference sets.
The pages in Q-files have been written by specialist children’s writers, working alongside the experienced editorial team at Orpheus. Much of the text and many of the illustrations have been drawn from Orpheus’s reference book archive, having been prepared under the expert guidance of the consultants who worked on the original titles.
Every page in Q-files has been submitted to the detailed scrutiny of a team of consultants. Users of Q-files can therefore be assured of the highest standards of accuracy and reliability – the same integrity and attention to detail that Orpheus has brought to its printed books and encyclopedias, and which have helped establish its peerless reputation as a publisher.
Besides the trustworthy nature of its content, Q-files has been carefully designed for ease of navigation which, along with the facility to keep the information right up-to-date, provides an extra dimension that actually improves on what a printed encyclopedia can provide.
