The Education Sales Exec will be responsible for developing new business sales within the UK academic sector. This will be a mix of handling inbound sales enquiries and developing direct end user sales of Avantis’ range of LearnPad educational tablet devices.

This will primarily involve responding to sales enquiries via telephone, email and website, direct telephone sales activity into primary and secondary schools, preparing and following up on customer quotations and pro-active follow up activity from trade show leads. The education sales exec will be familiar with the UK academic sector, have experience dealing with schools and colleges and have a basic understanding of school ICT requirements and use. They will need to be able to discuss key product features and benefits as well as to be able to deal with competitive product comparisons.

The role will also involve the use of the companies CRM system to log sales activity, prepare sales documentation and track sales opportunity progress. The education sales exec will also be responsible for creating sales reports and forecasts, as well as working with the marketing department to develop pro-active marketing campaigns and developing new business from this activity. The sales adviser will join a small team of sales and admin staff and will work closely with the technical support staff on any technical sales enquiries.

The position will serve a key role within the sales department and the successful candidate will be highly motivated, results driven with a desire to succeed and grow within the department. The position will primarily be office based but there will be a requirement to perform customer sales site visits or trade shows as necessary.

Duties
Primary duties for the education sales exec are as follows:

  • Pro-actively develop direct end user sales in the UK academic sector.
  • Produce quotations, sales reports, forecasts and other associated documentation
  • Engage in pro-active marketing campaigns including direct sales activities.
  • Respond to customer product sales enquiries.

Additional duties are as follows:

  • Assist in the production of tender and sales documentation
  • Provide sales demonstrations to end users and resellers as required.
  • Assist with marketing activities, campaigns and trade shows.

Educational:
‘O’ Level or GCSE Qualifications, Any Sales training a plus.

Experience:
IT/Educational sales, telesales, customer services, schools.

Key Skills:
Strong sales and telesales skills, understanding of the educational technology market, computer literate, highly motivated, results driven, good communicator/influencer, teamwork, organised, strong desire to grow and learn.

Travel Required: Yes

Salary: £18k basic, OTE £25k
