A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join an award winning, global, market leading Technology Company based in Gloucester. LearnPad develops award winning classroom tablet solutions for the education sector. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to cover the North of the country. Becoming a key member of our consultative field based sales team you will ensure the continued development of the company by growing our customer base and achieving sales targets.

Our Business Development team has the responsibility working directly with schools and Local Authorities to bring in new sales as well as managing VARs in their territory.  This role concentrates on new sales, with the account management of our direct customers being serviced by our internal sales team.  This role is suited to a Business Development Manager that has had many years of experience selling software or hardware in the education sector as well as experience of working with channel VARs.  This role is home based.

Duties
Primary duties for the Business Development Manager are as follows:

  • Developing new customers through the primary activity of proactive direct sales
  • Develop and manage educational channel partners
  • Achieving sales targets
  • Research, generate, qualify and follow up leads
  • Complete all sales reporting documentation , adhering to all procedures and deadlines
  • Work with the team to create a working sales strategy for the territory
  • Contribute to sales and company meetings with ideas, feedback and solutions from the market
  • Work closely with the internal sales team and other internal departments
  • Present  the LearnPad product offering to varying group sizes

Educational:
‘A’ Level or GCSE Qualifications, sales training a plus

Experience:

Minimum 5 year proven track record  in the education market preferably dealing with either software or hardware as well as experience of working with VARs or B to B. Proven track record of achieving targets

Key Skills:

Excellent consultative and benefit selling skills with the ability to present clearly and dynamically to varying group sizes. Results driven with a high level of self- motivation, ability to deal with change, a team player, excellent organisational skills, commercially aware and sound IT skills,

Office Based: No

Travel Required: Yes

Salary: £35k basic, OTE £57,500 plus £5k car allowance
